Syracuse V Rutgers

I obviously will be pulling for SU, however this is really all I have to say about RU....

THE U

The U is really something else. Miami consistently produces some of the most frightening players ever. Please refer to these two videos as visual evidence. Cheers Ray Lewis!

Amateur of the Day … 11/10/09…. It’s almost over

CHARLIE WEIS

Looks remarkably better than his team did on Saturday. That Navy team sure can fool you with that all run no fun offense. Cya later Weis

FYI

Well deserved moment for # 2 . He is possibly the best American born defenseman of all time.

The awards start rolling in as Jeter and Teixeira are named as 2009 Gold Glove winners. Cheers!!

Win for the ages
Jim Boeheim gets win # 800 in a victory over Albany last night ... GO ORANGE

Damon don't come cheap
Scott Boras said that Damon will not give the Yankees a home town discount when it comes to negotiations this off season. Have a nice career Johnny.

Some things never change
The Knicks and Nets have combined for one win this year. Read at your own risk

Cashman has a plan?????

While it doesn’t seem very likely, the Yankees are preparing a strategy  in which they will be able to retain all three of their big name free agents. If the Yankees can bring back Pettitte, Damon, and Matsui, they will clearly be displaying the , if it ant broke don’t fix it mentality.

I mean what strategy can Cashman really be brewing up there in Chicago at the GM meetings. If he wants any player in the world, he can have them. As Mike Gundy would say , let’s get our facts straight:

FACT 1: Cashman can outspend anyone in the market and offer more years too!!

FACT 2: REFER TO FACT 1!!!

But I think this machine is broken, and there might be some fixing that could be done. Andy is a foregone conclusion in my mind and should be offered for 2010 season. His 2009 playoff performance earned him that. As for Damon and Matsui, both are defensive liabilities on the downside of the Lauffer curve. Both have a recent injury history and both might request multiyear deals in an offseason where the Yankees have a boatload of money, and premier outfielders on the market. Should be fun...

Cheers NYY!!!

Amateur of the day - 11/10/09...Its Finaly Over

JASON VARITEK

Now that your gone Tek'' , we can finally be reminded that unlike Hockey, baseball players do not wear C's on their jersey's because that’s amateur. Now that you have been cut, the C will be removed and I can finally sleep again. Amen

Jokers Wild

The Mets want a power bat. Is that a joke? Who wants to go to the Mets today? They can’t get past Philly and they play second fiddle to the Yanks. Plus there are no good free agent Latinos this offseason so you know Minaya isn't interested in too many available players.

On a more serious note, the Mets need a power bat in the worst way . Joel Sherman reporting from the GM meetings in Chicago for the NY post said:

" Omar Minaya has told several of his friends in the industry that he badly wants to add a run-producing bat at either first base and/or left field."

No shit Omar. It’s not happening. The economics of the situation are that Bay, will remain in the AL east, Damon does not answer any of their glaring needs, and Holliday is going to want Teixeira money. Hey Varitek is available now Omar! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Cheers to the Yankees!

Quest for 800

Part 1:

Tonight Jimmy B goes for the record. Stuck on win number 799 after a tough, lopsided loss to Oklahoma in the Sweet 16, Jim goes for number800 tonight at the Carrier Dome against Albany. Usually this is a game that would be a breather for the Orange Nation, however after a tough loss to the ugly sister down Erie Blvd. (Le Moyne), can’t believe I just wrote that…the Orange are just hoping this doesn’t turn out like last week. I fully expect a dominating performance, however we will see.

Jim has spent his entire career at SU, and has made this program what it is. 800 is truly an honor, but don’t tell Jim anything is going on…

“I’m not concerned about anything except this team (and) getting this team ready. Period. That’s it. Nothing else.’’…’While Boeheim stands on the precipice of joining Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun as the only active Division I coaches in the 800-win club, Boeheim’s current outfit stands on the precipice of win No. 1. “ (MIKE WATERS SYRACUSE.COM)

CHEERS JIM!
